Merrell: Meet the 2017 College Ambassadors

Merrell is an outdoor brand that specializes in hiking shoes and clothing. As a Merrell College Ambassador, I get to lead amazing trips with the Outdoor Adventure Club through the generous grant provided by Merrell and Outdoor Foundation. Some of the trips include camping and hiking at local and state parks, ice skating, horseback riding and 5K runs. I love being an ambassador and am continuously inspired by my fellow colleagues! My only qualm is that we all live so far apart :) Be sure to check out their breathtaking Instagram feeds for some serious outdoor envy!

Uplifting Quotes for Lent

Every year for Lent, I think of something to give up. In the past, I've given up chocolate, shopping, eating out (coffee is out of the question) and I usually don't to a stellar job. This year I decided I wanted to DO something. I want to spread joy and make it as easy on you to do something positive during lent. Each day I will send out an uplifting bible quote straight to your inbox. It will be short, sweet, and to the point with no personal side commentary. Let each quote inspire you to do good.

Graduation Gap

I started by laying out the design I wanted before gluing anything down. Be sure to double and triple check that the cap is facing the right direction!! I hot glued the flowers to a small square of paper then hot glued the paper to the cap.

I used gold stickers to match the purple and gold theme. I printed out the shape of the states so I could align the text properly. For the final copy, I traced the outline of the states on heavier cardstock and used a glue stick to hold them down. I wouldn't advise using the glue stick as it doesn't hold as well as the hot glue does. 

Ta-da! My finished cap! The states represent moving from my home in Virginia to Illinois. GFIT and COB represent my affiliations with Group Fitness and the College of Business, which occupied most of my undergrad time. 

Graduation Preperation

T-minus two weeks until graduation!

I am so excited and have been working hard to get everything put together before May 8th. From buying my cap, cords, and gown to getting my senior portraits done all while balancing final exams and papers. I wanted to take a break and post some pictures to share with you all!
