Photo How-to Recreate Quotes, Images, or Fonts: Image Transfer

Ever see a beautiful image or unique font that you wanted to recreate? It's so easy, and once you know how, the possibilities are endless! This is a great way to get creative with those Pinterest quotes and trace them onto a canvas or cards to put your personal style in them. Here's the easiest way to transfer images:

1. Trace behind the graphic with a pencil
2. Center paper of canvas behind text
3. Using a pen or pencil, trace over the letters with medium pressure
4. Go over the new outline and make it your own

Thanks for visiting, be sure to re-post!

Hummingbird Cake

#tbt To When I Made Hummingbird Cake For My Mom's Birthday!

This cake was delicious! I used cool whip and pudding to make the "icing"-- cutting out fat and sugar. I used a boxed cake mix and added fresh ingredients which made baking this cake a cinch.

For your grocery list:
1 box yellow cake mix
1 can (8oz) crushed pineapple, un-drained
1 cup mashed bananas (2-3, ripe)
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 tspn vanilla
1 tspn cinnamon
1/4 cup crushed walnuts
1/2 cup walnuts for decorating, if desired
1 package of cream cheese pudding mix
1 cup milk
1 container of cool whip (unfrozen)

  1. Place a rack in the center of the oven and preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly mist or grease two 9-inch round cake pans and dust them with flour. Set the pans aside.
  2. Place the cake mix, pineapple and its juice, bananas, water, oil, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on low speed and beat until the mixture lightens and is smooth. Pour the batter into the prepared pans.
  3. Bake 28 to 32 minutes and let cool about 10 minutes. Once removed from plans, place the individual cakes into the refrigerator while you prepare the icing.
  4. Mix pudding package with one cup of milk. It will be very thick but try to remove any powdery bubbles. Then fold into the cool whip container.
  5. Place the first layer of cake on a stand and ice the top. Carefully place the second layer and ice the top and both sides. You can refrigerate to set if needed.

This 3 layer hummingbird cake looks awesome! However, this recipe contains raisins, which I excluded.

Easy Spaghetti Squash NO-Pasta Bake!

I've seen spaghetti squash recipes  all over the internet but was too nervous to eat it, let alone cook it! I finally tried it and I actually enjoyed it. It has a different texture and taste then pasta but served as a healthy and tasty alternative to noodles. I highly recommend trying it at least once... I bet you'll be hooked.

You'll need: A spaghetti squash, pasta sauce, and cheese (add parsley, salt, and pepper if desired)

1. Preheat over to 400 F
2. Halve the squash and remove seeds
3. Bake on a lightly greased pan face down for 35-45 minutes. You should be able to easily pierce a fork through the skin.

5. Using a fork, scrape the inside of the squash and be amazed that it really does look like spaghetti!

6. Layer pasta sauce, cheese and squash into a baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes at 350 F.

7.  Let cool 5 minutes and serve

You can always add proteins to this dish to make it more like a lasagna dish...Yum!

No-Sew Fleece Tie Blanket

It's almost Christmas! Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

I made this fleece blanket for my sister for part of her Christmas gift. My friend made me one as a gift previously and I wanted to try one out for Rachel. She loves laying on the couch covered in blankets and since I got more than two yards of fleece, it will also be large enough for her to throw on her bed. She is studying aeronautical engineering which is why I chose the purple cosmic fleece. Turquoise is also one of her favorite colors.

First, buy no pill fleece from your local fabric store (or Wal-mart). I asked for 2 yards but got more for free since one fabric was close to the end of the roll, which was awesome! Jo-Ann fabrics had all their fleece 50% off and had an additional 25% your entire purchase. Find a coupon, seriously!

Second, lay the fabrics on top of each other completely flat. Make sure you have no bumps or clumps of fabric. Cut any excess fabric along the edges so each piece of fabric is even in length and width.
Third, Cut a 4x4 inch square out of paper or cardboard. Lay on each corner of your fleece blanket and outline to cut out the square. Once you have cut the squares in each of the corners, cut the cardboard so that it as wide as you want your ties. This will ensure that each tie will be 4 inches in length. Try to measure the fabric before determining the width of your ties to ensure one wont be super small. Mine were 1.5 inches.

Fourth, Once you have cut all the ties, you can begin tying them together for the basic version or continue reading for a different version. Flip the top fleece layer as depicted above. At the base of the ties, cut a small slit where you will pull the bottom layer ties through. Once you have the bottom tie pulled through the top layer tie, tie in a knot and then another for a double knot that won't fall out.

Enjoy your fleece blanket! Be sure to re-pin, Thanks!!

Peanut Butter Pie with Oreo Crust

This light and fluffy, no-bake peanut butter pie is so easy to make! The hint of peanut butter doesn't overwhelm the filling and the oreo's add a delicious texture.

My friend Yasmin made this pie for a Thanksgiving pot luck and it was such a hit! Big thanks to her for the recipe, my family loved it at Thanksgiving!

Ingredients needed to make one 8 or 9 in pie:
1/2 cup reduced fat milk
12-15 Oreos
3/4 cup confectioners sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
4oz light cream cheese (not whipped)
8oz lite cool whip
2-3 tbl butter or butter substitute
1-2 tbl chocolate or nutella optional

1. Preheat oven to 350. Crumble about 10 Oero's and lay at the bottom of a pie pan. Melt 2 tbls butter and 1 tbl chocolate or nutella. Drizzle over oreo crumbs and pack evenly along bottom of pan. Bake in oven for about 5 minutes and them remove and cool.

2. In a mixing bowl, cream room temperature cream cheese until smooth and slowly add in confectioners sugar until smooth. Add in peanut butter and milk slowly.

3. Fold in whipped topping and leftover crushed oreos. Pour in pie pan over crust and refrigerate for about 2 hours before serving

Top with additional oreos or chocolate drizzle. The pie does NOT hold it's shape very well so be prepared to scoop it out a bit! However, it still tastes amazing!
